Frequently asked questions

We’ve gathered the most common questions to help you choose, install, and enjoy our coving and cornice mouldings with confidence.

How to install a cornice?

For detailed instructions and a visual guide, please refer to our installation manual and videos. If you have a question that we didn't cover, don't hesitate to contact us for support.

Can I paint Orac coving and cornices?

Absolutely. All profiles come pre-primed and ready to paint, allowing you to seamlessly match or contrast them with your interior colors using high-quality water-based paint. We recommend reviewing the supplier's datasheet to confirm if a specific primer is required and performing a test on a sample piece before final application. Can I install products in a humid space?

Our Duropolymer products are water-resistant. For Purotouch products we don't recommend direct contact with water. However, placing our products in a bathroom should not be a problem when installed with DecoFix Power (FDP700). Ensure panels are properly sealed. For the top and bottom we recommend using our CX190 U-profile since it's 100% waterproof. Finish by applying a water-resistant paint.

How to saw an inner and outer corner?

For detailed instructions, please refer to our installation videos. When positioning the product in the mitre box, ensure that the profile is perfectly aligned at a 90° angle for accurate cutting.

How should the curtain rails be installed?

Firstly, mark out on the ceiling where you want to place the curtain profiles. Always use DecoFix Power (FDP700) for the ceiling surfaces, and DecoFix Ultra (FX400) for the joints.

How should I cut and install the profiles?

Use a fine-tooth saw or mitre box for precise cuts. Apply the recommended Orac DecoFix adhesives to the back and joints, then press firmly into place. Finish with our DecoFiller for smooth, invisible joints.

How do you saw a flexible product?

For detailed instructions on our flexible profiles, please refer to our installation videos. We provide clear instructions on how to execute a stop mitre cut for cornices, skirtings, and panel mouldings.
