Frequently asked questions
We’ve gathered the most common questions to help you choose, install, and enjoy our decorative elements with confidence.
How do I prepare the surface?
Before proceeding with installation, it's crucial to prepare the surface properly. Begin by thoroughly washing and sanding the area. Make sure the surface is completely dry, free of dust and grease, and that your ceilings and walls are flat and even. Always ensure that any dirt and loose paint is thoroughly sanded off. Next, apply a primer to the wall. You can then proceed with the installation of our products. For specific adhesive recommendations and quantities, please consult our Glue Calculator.
What are the best installation conditions?
We recommend pre-conditioning the products in the area where they are going to be installed 24 hours in advance. The temperature should fall within the range of 5-35°C (41-95°F). Maintain a humidity level of at least 40%, but no more than 70%. Please store the profiles flat on the ground.
Can you also place Orac products on painted surfaces?
Yes, you can. However, it's crucial that the paint provides a clean, dry, and non-greasy surface with good adhesion. Always ensure that any dirt and loose paint is thoroughly sanded off. For non-porous surfaces, including non-washable paint, opt for DecoFix Power FDP700. For porous surfaces, use DecoFix Pro FDP500. To determine the surface type (porous or non-porous), conduct a water absorption check. Perform a water absorption test by spraying water on the surface. If the water doesn't absorb and forms droplets, use DecoFix Power FDP700. Always consult our Glue Calculator for precise recommendations.
Can Orac products be applied on wallpaper?
We recommend removing your wallpaper before installing Orac products. If removal is not feasible, you can cut and remove the relevant sections. In such cases, use DecoFix Power (FDP700) as the adhesive for affixing Orac products, as most wallpapers are not water absorbent.

Our helpful installation guides and videos have lots of tips and tricks. If you have any questions that aren't covered in our guides, please feel free to reach out to us. Don't forget to follow us on our social media channels for the latest updates and inspiration!
How should I cut and install the profiles?
Use a fine-tooth saw or mitre box for precise cuts. Apply the recommended Orac DecoFix adhesive to the back and joints, then press firmly into place. Finish with our DecoFiller for smooth, invisible joints.
What should I do with left-over Orac products after installation?
If you have undamaged full-length profiles remaining after installation, please review our return policy for instructions on how to send them back to us. For Duropolymer post-installation offcuts, it is recommended to dispose of them with other 'hard plastics' at your nearest container park. These leftover pieces will be repurposed into recycled granulate that will find use in various applications. Similarly, post-installation offcuts of Purotouch, Durofoam and Flex should also be taken to the recycling park for proper disposal.
