Frequently asked questions

We’ve gathered the most common questions to help you choose, install, and enjoy our panel mouldings with confidence.

How do I prepare the surface?

Before proceeding with installation, it's crucial to prepare the surface properly. Begin by thoroughly washing and sanding the area. Make sure the surface is completely dry, free of dust and grease, and that your ceilings and walls are flat and even. Always ensure that any dirt and loose paint is thoroughly sanded off. Next, apply a primer to the wall. You can then proceed with the installation of our products. For specific adhesive recommendations and quantities, please consult our Glue Calculator.

Can I paint Orac panel mouldings?

Definitely. All profiles come pre-primed and ready to paint, allowing you to match or contrast with your wall and floor colours. Use high-quality water-based paint for best results.

What are the best installation conditions?

We recommend pre-conditioning the products in the area where they are going to be installed 24 hours in advance. The temperature should fall within the range of 5-35°C (41-95°F). Maintain a humidity level of at least 40%, but no more than 70%.

Are Orac products suitable for outdoor use?

Contact us for exterior options or explore the ORAC Xterio collection if available in your market.

How should I cut and install the profiles?

Use a fine-tooth saw or mitre box for precise cuts. Apply the recommended Orac DecoFix adhesive to the back and joints, then press firmly into place. Finish with our DecoFiller for smooth, invisible joints.

Can I install products in a humid space?

Our Duropolymer products are water-resistant. For Purotouch products we don't recommend direct contact with water. However, placing our products in a bathroom (humid space, but no direct contact with water) should not be a problem. In this case you need to install the products with our DecoFix Power (FDP700), which is the perfect glue for this purpose. Ensure panels are properly sealed, making sure no water can get behind them. For the top and bottom we recommend using our CX190 U-profile since it's 100% waterproof. If the connection between the 2 profiles is properly sealed, no water can get behind it. Finish the installation by applying a water-resistant paint. Follow the painting instructions of the paint supplier. We recommend prior testing.
