Coving lighting is a subtle yet impactful way to introduce ambient lighting into an interior, creating atmosphere while adding a refined architectural finish. By concealing LED strips within mouldings, light is softly diffused across walls and ceilings, enhancing the sense of space without visible fittings or glare.
Our range of LED coving profiles is designed to work with both down and up lights, allowing you to tailor the mood of a room. Whether youāre creating a calm, relaxing glow in living spaces and bedrooms or adding drama to a coffered ceiling or feature wall, coving lighting offers flexible lighting solutions for both modern and traditional interiors.
From discreet uplighter profiles that wash light across the ceiling to designs that combine direct lighting with softer reflected light, coving lighting helps define zones, highlight architectural details and deliver layered mood lighting that feels considered rather than overpowering.
How do I install coving lighting and what do I need?
Coving lighting mouldings should always be installed using our recommended Orac adhesives. When applied correctly, these adhesives provide a strong, reliable bond that will securely hold the mouldings in place. When adding products to your basket, the glue pop up on our website will guide you towards the most suitable adhesive based on your environment.
We do not supply LED lighting systems themselves. For the lighting components, we recommend speaking with a local lighting specialist or qualified electrician. Using an aluminium channel or support for the LED strip is strongly advised, as this helps with heat management and ensures even light dispersion.
How far from the ceiling should an uplighting profile be installed?
There is no fixed rule, as placement depends on the effect you want to achieve. Installing an uplighter profile closer to the ceiling or cornice will result in a stronger, brighter light. Dropping the profile further down the wall creates a softer, more diffused glow.
