3D Wall Covering
What is the difference between a linear and non-linear wall panel?
- Linear: Linear panels feature straight lines in their design, creating a pattern that appears infinite.
- Non-linear: Non-linear panels are not made up of straight lines and have a specific design or pattern.
How do I finish the seams or corners between two wall panels?
- For non-linear 3D wall panels, you can leave the long seam as it is or you can use an intermediate profile (accessory) such as CX190, SX194, PX209.
- For linear 3D wall panels, you can use the DecoFiller (FL300) for the long sides.
- For the short/horizontal joints, for non-linear installations we don't recommend using Decofix Ultra FX400 or the DecoFiller FL300.
- For linear installations, you can use the Decofix Ultra FX400 and Decofiller FL300 to finish the joints.
Can our 3D Wall Covering products be installed outdoors?
No, we don't recommend outdoor applications. For more information, please contact us.
Can they be used in the bathroom?
Our Duropolymer wall panels (WX) products are water-resistant. Our Purotouch products (W) are not recommended to come in direct contact with water. However, placing our products in a bathroom (humid space, but no direct contact) should not a problem when installing with the correct glue (DecoFix Power FDP700 and DecoFix Ultra FX400). Seal the panels completely making sure no water can get behind them. For the top and bottom we recommend using our CX190 U-profile since it's 100% waterproof. If the connection between the 2 profiles is properly sealed, no water can get behind it. Finish the installation by applying a water-resistant paint. Follow the painting instructions provided by the paint supplier. We recommend prior testing.
Can you use these next to the fireplace or a kitchen hob?
Yes, but make sure the temperature does not exceed 65°C (149°F). For more information, please contact us.
What glue do I need to use?
For the installation of 3D Wall Covering panels, please use FDP700 DecoFix Power. For specific adhesive recommendations and quantities, please consult our Glue Calculator
What is the best way to paint the wall panels?
We suggest utilizing a spray gun and applying paint from three angles: straight onto the panel and at 45° angles from the left and right side. This ensures an even distribution of paint.
Can I install on furniture?
Yes of course! Please install the products with Decofix Power (FDP700). To finish the edges of the 3D Wall Covering panels, you can use SX194, CX190 or PX209 to make a frame.

Installation
Preparation
How do I prepare the surface?
Before proceeding with installation, it's crucial to prepare the surface properly. Begin by thoroughly washing and sanding the area. Make sure the surface is completely dry, free of dust and grease, and that your ceilings and walls are flat and even. Always ensure that any dirt and loose paint is thoroughly sanded off. Next, apply a primer to the wall. You can then proceed with the installation of our products. For specific adhesive recommendations and quantities, please consult our Glue Calculator.
What are the best installation conditions?
We recommend pre-conditioning the products in the area where they are going to be installed 24 hours in advance. The temperature should fall within the range of 5-35°C (41-95°F). Maintain a humidity level of at least 40%, but no more than 70%.
Can you also place Orac products on painted surfaces?
Yes, you can. However, it's crucial that the paint provides a clean, dry, and non-greasy surface with good adhesion. Always ensure that any dirt and loose paint is thoroughly sanded off. For non-porous surfaces, including non-washable paint, opt for DecoFix Power FDP700. For porous surfaces, use DecoFix Pro FDP500. To determine the surface type (porous or non-porous), conduct a water absorption check. Spray some water on the surface. If the water doesn't absorb and forms droplets, use DecoFix Power FDP700. Please always consult the glue calculator to determine which glues to use and the quantities needed.
Can Orac products be applied on wallpaper?
We recommend removing your wallpaper before installing Orac products. If removal is not feasible, you can cut and remove the relevant sections. In such cases, use DecoFix Power (FDP700) as the adhesive for affixing Orac products, as most wallpapers are not water absorbent.

We offer a selection of pre-painted skirtings which have a water-based finish. Our standard stock products are finished in RAL9003. Other colours are available on request. For the installation of RAL finished skirtings, you can follow the same installation steps as for regular skirtings, without needing to paint. What should I do with left-over Orac products after installation?
If you have undamaged full-length profiles remaining after installation, please review our return policy for instructions on how to send them back to us. For Duropolymer post-installation offcuts, it is recommended to dispose of them with other 'hard plastics' at your nearest container park. These leftover pieces will be repurposed into recycled granulate that will find use in various applications. Similarly, post-installation offcuts of Purotouch, Durofoam and Flex should also be taken to the recycling park for proper disposal.
How to install indirect lighting?
For detailed instructions and a visual guide, please refer to our installation manual and video.
- PUROTOUCH (all C references for indirect lighting) is not translucent. If light does shine through, use an aluminium tape/strip.
- DUROPOLYMER (all ‘Compact Design’ CX and SX references) is translucent. Always use an aluminum tape on the inside of the profile, an aluminum LED support to avoid the light showing through the moulding or light-blocking paint (24 hours after the installation). Exceptionally, for CX196 and CX197 it is recommended in some cases to apply an additional coat of paint on the inside of the profile.
Can I install products in a humid space?
Our Duropolymer products are water-resistant. For Purotouch products we don't recommend direct contact with water. However, placing our products in a bathroom (humid space, but no direct contact with water) should not a problem. In this case you need to install the products with our DecoFix Power (FDP700), which is the perfect glue for this purpose. Seal the panels very well, making sure no water can get behind them. For the top and bottom we recommend using our CX190 U-profile since it's 100% waterproof. If the connection between the 2 profiles is properly sealed, no water can get behind it. Finish the installation by applying a water-resistant paint. Follow the painting instructions of the paint supplier. We recommend prior testing.

Indirect Lighting
Does Orac sell the lighting system?
No, we sell only the LED coving and adhesives, but you can get the lighting elements from a lighting supplier.
What should be considered when installing LED coving?
Consult with the LED supplier’s instructions for the distance, position, mount, ventilation, and use of an aluminium profile. Before installation, check if you need a driver and where to hide it. For Duropolymer profiles and downlighting you always need an aluminium support.
What is the maximum permissible temperature for Orac profiles in combination with lighting?
Orac profiles can withstand temperatures of up to 65°C - 149°F
Can I install indirect lighting profiles upside down?
Yes, you can install them as uplighter, downlighter and direct lighting.
How do I avoid seeing "the dots of light"?
- PUROTOUCH (all C references for indirect lighting) is not translucent. If light does shine through, use an aluminium tape/strip.
- DUROPOLYMER (all ‘Compact Design’ CX and SX references) is translucent. Always use an aluminum tape on the inside of the profile, an aluminum LED support to avoid the light showing through the moulding or light-blocking paint (24 hours after the installation). Exceptionally, for CX196 and CX197 it is recommend in some cases to apply an additional coat of paint on the inside of the profile.
At what height is it recommended to install the indirect lighting?
You can choose, but we recommend placing it 25cm from the ceiling to avoid shadows from the cornice. Ensure they aren't positioned too closely to each other to maintain visible light and prevent an excessive increase in temperature.
